Schlesinger Companies have been active in the Portland real estate market for four generations, spanning nearly one hundred years. They currently own one million square feet of property in the region including office, retail, parking, and industrial properties.

This longevity gives Fourth Ark an advantage in sourcing and executing on investments in Portland through access to institutional knowledge, investment experience, and relationships with developers, lenders, vendors, and key city stakeholders.

Josh Schlesinger, President and CEO of Schlesinger Companies, and Managing Member of Fourth Ark, has 20+ years’ experience leading private equity real estate investment for an institutional sized, multigenerational family-owned real estate company.  He has originated over $1 billion in commercial real estate debt. Josh graduated with Honors from Pitzer College in Claremont, CA and has both an MBA and Graduate Degree in Real Estate Development from Portland State University.

Josh has served on the board of directors or as trustee for several originations including Pitzer College, Goodwill Industries of the Columbia Willamette, the Oregon Health and Science University Foundation, and the Schlesinger Family Foundation.
